What is a specific voluntary inspection?
Of the machinery that must undergo periodic voluntary inspections, certain machinery, such as construction machinery (e.g., hydraulic excavators) and load handling and transport machinery (e.g., forklifts), must undergo an inspection conducted by a certain qualified inspector once within one year (once every two years for rough terrain transporters). This inspection is called a "specific voluntary inspection.
Methods of Specific Voluntary Inspections
There are two methods of specific voluntary inspections: "in-house inspections," in which users have qualified inspectors conduct inspections of machines used by their own companies, and "inspections by registered inspection companies," which are conducted by registered inspection companies at the request of users.
